Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani tests positive for Coronavirus

As the number of deadly Coronavirus cases has witnessed a steady increase in Pakistan, Sindh’s provincial Minister Saeed Ghani has tested positive for the virus.

The Minister shared on social media on Monday that he has tested positive for novel Coronavirus and went in voluntary self-isolation.

“I underwent test for coronavirus yesterday [Sunday] and surprisingly I tested positive for it,” he told in his video message. I did not exhibit any symptoms of the contagion. I don’t have flu, fever cough.. and I am in good health and 100% fit.”

The provincial Minister added that he went into self-isolation as part of the precautionary measure and fulfilling his responsibilities from home.

Saeed Ghani requested friends and acquaintances he had met recently to be observant for the symptoms of the virus and self-isolate themselves out of caution.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail also self-quarantined for 24 hours. He is among those who had recently met Saeed Ghani.

Ghani has been at the forefront of the provincial government’s efforts against the deadly virus. He became the first prominent political leader of the country who has fallen victim to the highly-contagious disease.

It was also learnt that Sindh’s Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, spokesperson Murtaza Wahab, Local Body Minister Nasir Hussain Shah also underwent for coronavirus test but they tested negative for COVID-19.

Sindh province is on top of the list with highest reported COVID-19 cases in Pakistan.
